Something to think about

Qing gave them food and lodging. She said they would be safe above her makeup shop. Of course, ChaCha didn't quite believe her.

"She's a mistress of disguises," ChaCha looked at Milo as if he needed to fix this. "How does someone obtain such a talent?"

Milo only looked at her a bit baffled and popped a grape in her mouth that was from the dining table in their lodging. There was a room for the two of them to sleep and War made himself at home on the bed in the livingroom.

"Some of this kind of thing is passed on from one generation to the next," War gave her a shrug. "Some, just never find the awakening in one's inner self while someone like Qing definitely does it with such style."

"Don't tell me you want to learn tricks like that?" Milo winced with a sigh. "I find it to be a rather dark martial art." He shook his head.

"Well, yes, if you take advantage of it, it could get you in a mess of problems," War nodded. He grabbed some walnuts and slid them through his fingers as if it was a natural talent of his to relieve stress.

ChaCha poured tea as if maybe she was on to something, or just to prod some information out of either of them.

"Do you think she remembers her true self?" That was the question.

Milo sighed as if it was best not to know. "She did say she was posing as her brother, but he's gone to the border to fight. She hasn't seen him in ages. He might look different now."

"Different?" ChaCha winced as if she didn't know what he meant.

"We evolve you know," War let a smile slip. "With age."

"Yes, a few bad meals under our belt to make it worse," Milo made a face of disgust and then laughed.

"Oh, and the wine, too much wine," War shook his head. "It can make you old before your time."

"I don't even know what you two are talking about?" She looked as if she could kick both of them. They weren't being serious at all. "What would happen..if..if.."

"What? One of the disguises doesn't wear off?" Milo asked. ChaCha nodded. They both looked at War since he knew a thing are two about disguises and spying and such.

"Oh, I've never heard of such a thing," War chuckled, but Milo had a feeling he knew the repercussions of disguising too much.

  1. Milo is so funny here! ' "Yes, a few bad meals under our belt to make it worse," Milo made a face of disgust and then laughed." The whole disguise thing is very intriguing. Especially at the end when Milo suspects that War knows what can go wrong when you spend too much time under cover. Never a dull moment in this cherry tree! 🍒🌸🐴💄
