In this world, it's just us

The visualization became real a couple of days later. Really, it was a technique ChaCha grew fond of. She didn't think she would. But to dance with Milo was quite exciting and filled her with laughter. Each step felt stronger and stronger until the moment she realized they were both in the air knowing each stance with significant measure.

"Maybe we should go to the nearest village now," Milo's smile was broad, but somehow ChaCha felt it was better to stay away from the outside world.

"We can't stay here, forever, what good will that do?" Of course, Milo turned a flip or two to show his amazing agile moves. Naturally, ChaCha could mimic every move he made as long as she watched what he was doing she was airborne and strong.

But the moment she thought about their troubles, she found herself fading to the ground.

"Why did you do that?" Milo squinted.

"I dunno." She looked up at him as if she was afraid she wasn't cut out for this kind of life.

"Well stop it." He held out his hand and she came to him like a magnet to steel. She sighed, thinking this was all his doing.

"If we find this old doctor I used to know when I was a kid, I'm sure he can teach you everything there is to know about acupuncture and making medicines." He told her. "But first we have to find the Begar's Sect."

"Why the Begar's Sect?" She still didn't understand.

"Only they know where Old Xan would be. He's one of them, you know." Milo was ready to go.  His goods were already on his back, but that wouldn't slow him down. They weren't taking much. As it was, she had nothing to cook.

"Is that how it'll be for us?" She asked as he grabbed her hand and lead the way, flying over the tops of trees.

"What's wrong with that?" He shot back as she almost gasped looking overhead at the trees under them. She felt almost dizzy. It was true, she'd left her life at the palace. She was never coming back. Although, she felt stronger. But was it really true? Could they make it on their own? Or would they be robbed again, like before?

"Stop thinking about the bad," he knew what she was thinking. "Don't even go there."

She took a deep breath hanging on for the ride as he kept running on air. His dark hair in the wind. And somewhere in that robe of his was a fan for destruction. Finally, they settled back down to the road, just on the outskirts of town as if they might be ordinary travelers. It was there they met a black horse, happy to meet them.

  5. Ooh, dancing on air -- so magical! And the symbolism is wonderful too: "But the moment she thought about their troubles, she found herself fading to the ground." We are all a little like ChaCha sometimes, letting our worries steal our joy and freedom. Yet I'm confident that with Milo by her side, ChaCha will find a way to stay airborne. :)
